I really love the shabby chic look and I found the cutest website the other day called www.simplysacndinavian.co.uk
I found the website through Instagram so it really does show the power of social media as if it wasn't for me searching #shabbychicchristmas this lady wouldn't have had my sale!
I couldn't resist I bought this lovely three tier tea light candle holder. Its quite christmassy but knowing me I will have it out all year round.
I think my love for shabby chic, antiques and generally old stuff really does shine through out my design work. I always love to print these gingerbread tea towels for Christmas but they definitely have a shabby chic Parisian bakery feel about them. What do you think? They are just £10 and come with the cookie cutter and wooden spoon another shabby chic touch! I think they make a cute secret santa gift.
I also think this love hearts design below has shabby chic written all over it with out the words of course! In fact I even named this pashmina shabby chic love hearts. I took the inspiration from my many hanging hearts I have collected over time and hung all over my home. Sometimes I feel that when I print a design it looks like it's lacking something and I often turn to my trusty textile foils. You can see in the pictures below I only use a little but it really brings out the design. I think I like the effect it gives because its similar to when you see furniture painted and then rubbed down with the natural wood peeping through. It just gives a little character.
Thanks for reading this blog post today and please do hop over to the lovey Simply Scandinavian site I told you about, there really are some lovely things on the shop and the photographs are beautiful too.
